I was asked this very question not long ago by a VERY smart individual with a super cool business idea. She was ready with all the tools to get her business built and running, but honestly didn't even know where to begin. Like most good entrepreneurs, she was crazy excited to get started. The thought of doing a lot of on line research, or reading a tedious "How To" book just didn't appeal to her AT ALL!
I quickly jumped in to help her with my proven business startup checklist and before she knew it, she was blazing a trail with her new business. Some checklist items are very obvious. Other items actually require experience with business startups. This experience can be incredibly valuable when it comes to a business startup. Here are some obvious (and not so obvious) items I can assist you with.
- Business Classification and Basic Business Form Filing Yes......forms can be tedious, but they are necessary none the less. What forms you fill out are based on how you have classified your business.
- Where will I operate? Knowing where to be and when to be there as far as your business location is concerned is unbelievably important. Not everyone is a business location expert, but it is good to know who to turn to to get honest answers. We can assist you with the right people who have your interest in mind....not how much commission money they can charge you.
- Vendor Relations Who assists you with your endeavor, is as important as where you will operate. Having a good reliable General Contractor, a good Lawyer, a good Accountant, or a good Mechanical Repair Crew are like finding loose diamonds on the sidewalk. You will be extremely lucky to find them just by searching on YELP. We have already established these relationships so you don't have to. We already found the diamonds for you!
- Supply Chain Let us help you with companies that can supply your new business with all of it's basic necessities. Why pay $10 for a mop when you can get the same mop from a different company for HALF the price. We have already done the shopping. Our basket is completely full of the lowest prices on the market!
- IT This can be the MOST confusing category of all. How much computer is enough computer? What kind of system will be the best for your business? IT vendors have a bad reputation for over selling and over laboring a new business project. Did you really need a $10K server system and 160 IT labor hours billed to start up your new Pet Jewelry business? (Guinea Pig Rhinestone Necklace anyone?) We have already vetted the experts for you. These are proven companies that will see to it you receive only what you need.
Building a new business on a solid (economical) foundation will help you beat the odds and outlast your competition. It is amazing how much money is spent needlessly on a startup project. Is it really surprising that lack of "Cash flow" is the number one killer of a new business? I can help you avoid these costly errors.
